July 24th-28th, 2017: $350
From 1096 to 1291,
the forces of Christianity and Islam struggled for control over the Holy Land.
Pack your gear and mount your horse, because our Siege & Holy War Camp is headed out for dusty deserts and the fortress cities of Antioch, Acre, and Jerusalem! Learn what drove two centuries of conflict. We’ll look at the Holy Wars from both sides: Islam and Christianity, and examine the strategies, tactics, armor and weapons.
You’ll learn to ride with sword and lance on our two-wheeled horse (a bike). You’ll battle your fellow warriors with sword and shield! You’ll learn about siege weapons and tactics! You’ll even get to fire a replica TREBUCHET! Yeah! That’s what I said!
AND… You’re gonna make a REAL STEEL BARREL HELM, just like the European knights wore into battle in the Holy Land. And at the end of the week, you’ll take it home to show all your friends!
Handle Real Swords and Weapons!
And at the end of the week, you’ll get to do something you’re never gonna do in any other camp on Earth: handle a REAL SWORD from the era of the FIRST CRUSADE! This sword might well have actually BEEN on the Crusade! And you’ll get to handle several other medieval swords, axes, and cool stuff. These are NOT REPLICAS.
No waaay!
These weapons are from 500 to over 1000 years old, and you’re gonna hold them in your hand!
Oh yeah, Mom n Dad can come on the last day and handle them, too! And take pictures of you in your shiny new Barrel Helm!
The Holy Land is Waiting! But not for Long!
