Build your own training dagger in this one day skills building workshop.

The Renaissance art of Rapier and Dagger combat is still practiced today and if you would like to create your own dagger this is the class for you!

The Oakeshott Institute will lead you through the finishing of your hilt and assemble of a period appropriate Parrying dagger trainer.

This adult smithing event will include hand working metal and wood and have some demonstrations of of more advanced skills. This is a great way to learn some new techniques and practice on making your very own training dagger.

We will provide you with all of the supplies and the expertise to construct an authentic dagger with training blade in the style of pieces depicted in the manuals of the period such as Marozzo and Agrippa.

You will finish the pommel and guard, shape the grip and assemble the components to complete a dagger. You can upgrade your dagger with a pre made wire wrapped grip for an additional fee.

Participants will also have the opportunity to view and handle historical artifacts from the Oakeshott Institute collection.
